In her first public act as Archbishop, Melissa M. Skelton, the new Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of BC and Yukon visited the parish of St. Anselm. Archbishop Skelton is the first woman to be elected an Archbishop in the Anglican Church of Canada, and we are delighted to see her receive this honour.
Archbishop Melissa was our preacher and offered anointing for those desiring it. After church, we had a reception when everyone had a chance to greet our guest and her husband Eric. Our theme was Mother's Day High Tea so dainty sandwiches, squares, and other finger foods were enjoyed as well as a cake for all those with May birthdays. We shared flowers with all our moms, and shared fellowship that did not want to end. We were even interupted after the service for an Archepiscopal photo shoot with the Vancouver Sun!
